Below you will find answers to questions you might have about Mingle’s end of life (EOL). There are some FAQs specifically for Mingle in the cloud and Mingle Onsite. If you can’t find the answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to write to us at support@thoughtworks.com

General FAQs

Mingle EOL timeline

Q. What is the last date of service?

Support for both Mingle in the cloud and Mingle Onsite will end on July 31st 2019.

Q. How long will support be available for?

Support for Mingle in the cloud and Mingle Onsite will be available until July 31st 2019. Should you need any assistance with export of data, please let us know at support@thoughtworks.com before July 31st 2019. Our support channels and turnaround time will remain the same until that date.

Q. What should I do next to migrate to another tool?

You can continue using Mingle for now. By October 1st 2018, we will make available an Export feature that will enable you to export all data from your Mingle instance. In the meantime, please investigate other project management tools that you might want to trial ahead of starting a migration.

Q. I have a question about this process. Can I talk to someone?

Absolutely. Please write to us at support@thoughtworks.com, and we’ll answer your questions. If it is needed, we’ll schedule a call with you.

Migration, exports and alternatives

Q. Can you help me migrate? Will you build a way for us to easily migrate from Mingle to another tool? Will you support us through the migration process?

Given the wide array of tools in the market, we will not automate migration to all tools completely. We intend to provide you full exports by October 1st 2018. For any help with exports, please write to us at support@thoughtworks.com

Q. Can I export all our data?

Yes, we intend to provide a way to export all your data. On October 1st 2018, we will make available a full export feature that will enable Mingle administrators to export extensive data from all projects and programs with one click.

Subscriptions and payments

Q. I have a question about payments. Who do I speak with?

Please contact your sales executive or email us at support@thoughtworks.com to talk about the specifics of your contract.

Q. Our contract is ending soon, but we need time to migrate. What do we do?

If you need more time to migrate off of Mingle, please contact us at support@thoughtworks.com and we’ll help the best we can.

Products from ThoughtWorks

Q. Does this mean ThoughtWorks no longer has any products?

No, we still create GoCD and Gauge, and have no plans to end of life these products.

Q. Will this decision impact your other products?

Our other products will not be affected by the decision to EOL Mingle.

Timelines and next steps

Q. How long before we have to move?

All Mingle in the cloud instances will go into read-only mode whenever your last contract has expired or June 30th 2019 – whichever is earlier. If your contract is expiring very soon and you require more time to migrate, please contact us at support@thoughtworks.com for options.

Q. What immediate changes are being made?

No new Mingle in the cloud instances can be created after July 31st 2018. All active development has been stopped, aside from urgent bug fixes.

Q. What will happen to my Mingle instance after July 31st 2019?

All Mingle instances will be deleted on August 1st 2019. All data in the instances will be irrecoverable.

Mingle features

Q. Will Mingle still work?

You can continue to use all of Mingle’s features until your contract expires or June 30th 2019, whichever is sooner. All features will be available.

On June 30th 2019, all Mingle instances will become read-only.

Q. Will there be any new features?

Aside from making exports available, development of new features has stopped with our End of Life announcement on July 31st 2018.

Q. I want to try Mingle before it goes away. How do I do that?

We have closed new sign-ups. No new Mingle instances can be created.

Q. Can I add new users?

You can add new users to your Mingle instance. Please contact your sales executive or write to us at support@thoughtworks.com if you need additional users.

Q. Will you fix bugs?

We will continue to address critical bugs and will release fixes for them until July 31st 2019.

Data and Privacy

Q. How do I delete my instance?

All instances will be deleted on August 1st 2019. If you’d like to have your instance deleted before this date, please contact us at support@thoughtworks.com

Q. What will happen to all my data after Mingle is shut down?

For all Mingle in the cloud instances, data will be held in our servers until July 31st 2019. After this date, it will be permanently deleted. The data will be irrecoverable after this time.

Mingle Onsite

Timelines and next steps

Q. What immediate changes are being made?

All active development has been stopped as of July 31st 2018. We are working on a full export feature, which we will release in a new installer. That will be the last Mingle installer we release.

Q. Will there be new releases?

We will release a new installer in early October with the export feature. After this, there will be no more releases for Mingle Onsite customers, except for patches with urgent bug fixes.

Q. What will change for me after the EOL date – July 31st 2019?

Support will no longer be available after this date. We will not release any further patches or enhancements past the EOL date.

Q. Will Mingle still work?

All features will be available.

Q. Will there be any new features?

Development of new features has stopped with our End of Life announcement.

Q. Will there be bug fixes to Mingle?

We will continue to address critical bugs and release fixes for them, until July 31st 2019.
