Quality advocate

When I say that I work with quality and tests, it sometimes gives the impression I'm the only one in my team that cares about software quality.

Actually, quality is not something strictly related to my position. It must be a shared responsibility in the whole team.

My job is to make sure that the product is being built with high quality standards and that the final user is happy, using a bug-free application. I work hard advocating for quality, making sure that the entire team understands the value of having tests and some other practices which help us to prevent bugs and vulnerabilities.

The Interview

I came to find ThoughtWorks by

a friend of mine who was joining ThoughtWorks at that time. I was no longer interested in software development at all because in my head it was a typically male job and I thought I would never have support to help me to improve my skills and perform well. This friend showed me how much support and empowerment I would receive by working at ThoughtWorks. Three years later, I’m still sure that he was not wrong.

The thing I love most about my work is

the chance of learning everyday, of feeling empowered, of using the technology to change the world and to have the ability of facing a different challenge every day. I never feel bored with my job.

With ThoughtWorks, I’ve visited

the US, India, Uganda, South Africa and the cities in Brazil in which we have offices.

The most interesting thing I’ve learned on the job is

how much the willingness of embracing change varies from a person/organization to another. And, as a consultant, I'm part of the process of influencing, coaching and leading people to change the reality of a project and deliver the best product possible.
