Martin Fowler

Chief Scientist, ThoughtWorks


Martin, renowned author, software consultant and speaker, brings two decades of experience helping corporations utilise object technology for mission-critical information systems. He was one of the authors of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development, and has written seven books on software development and collected awards for them. He's also a highly regarded speaker at international conferences, although these days he prefers to stay off the stage.

His main interest is to understand how to design software systems, so as to maximize the productivity of development teams. In doing this he has looked to understand the patterns of good software design, and also the processes that support software design. He finds he learns a lot from listening to the experiences of his fellow ThoughtWorkers: digging for useful ideas and communicating them to the wider world.

Saptorsi Hore is the Head of Operations / COO for ThoughtWorks India, being responsible for operational business planning, strategic planning, professional services management - people management, recruitment, staffing, training and immigration, financial management and reporting, portfolio management, demand management and administration. He is a member of the global operations leadership team.


He is a senior management professional with 19+ years in the IT industry having proven his expertise in managing client relationships, delivering large technology programs, grooming leaders and in setting up and heading business operations.


He has played a variety of roles in ThoughtWorks like that of the Market Principal for the EU offshore market, Program Director, Business Analyst, Project Manager, Client Principal, Program Manager, Delivery Manager, General Manager for the Gurgaon office, setting up the Analytics practice and General Manager for the Bangalore office.


He has around 15 years of experience in delivering software projects in a distributed model, with 11 years in delivering projects using Agile methodologies.


He graduated from IIT Kharagpur and did his MBA from IIM Calcutta.

Bharani Subramaniam

Market Tech Principal, ThoughtWorks



Bharani, with 18 years of experience has been building applications since the late nineties, when he started his career as a VC++ win32 programmer. He is a connoisseur of various technologies but his passion lies in simplifying system designs. He also indulges in building strategies around data engineering and making the most of real time analytics for ThoughtWorks’ clients.

Bharani in his current role as the Market Technology Principal for India and Europe devotes most of his time to shaping new pursuits, actively participating in client projects, while also crafting blueprints that eliminate projects’ SOS calls, for rescue. He collaborates with the ThoughtWorks' Technology Advisory Board that puts together thoughts on emerging technology trends in the industry, resulting in the much sought after Technology Radar. Bharani curates the technology inputs from India, Turkey and Singapore.

Earlier leadership roles that Bharani has held, include the Office Technology Principal for ThoughtWorks Chennai where he mentored the developer community in the region.

While, Bharani’s geeky passion lies in learning and building low latency, high throughput applications, he has also capitalized on opportunities to design and build distributed systems, leveraging microservices. And what he loves most about coming to work is being surrounded by people who are smart and contribute to ThoughtWorks’ open culture, which he believes, provides a great platform for people to question, challenge and learn.

The technology leader’s hobbies outside technology, include playing a mean game of badminton and watching movies that are from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lakshminarasimhan Sudarshan

Principal Consultant, ThoughtWorks


Sudarshan is a Principal Consultant working out of ThoughtWorks' Bangalore office. He has been with the company for over 15 years and have worked on a range of technologies in that period. He loves helping clients use futuristic tech to achieve their goals. 

His interest lies in distributed systems with a focus on data platforms. He is also a member of the Technology Advisory Board that helps pull together the ThoughtWorks Tech Radar.

Paddy is the head of commercial banking engineering and securities division quants in Bengaluru. He is a member of the Bengaluru Leadership of Goldman Sachs (GS). He has been with GS for 14 yrs in London , NY and BLR .


Paddy has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and masters from Indian School of Business in 2005. He was the first Executive-in-Residence at ISB in 2016 where he helped set up data driven research program on digital identity.

Ranjan Sakalley currently serves GoPay as Chief Technology Officer. With his 17 years of experience writing code and leading teams, he has built products and custom software for ERP, eCommerce, enterprise, travel and now real time transportation, logistics and eWallet and payments domains. As CTO of GoPay, he focuses on creating design and architectural homogeneity, reliability of products and building great teams that work cohesively to deliver world class features to our customers. Prior to leading GoPay, Ranjan played instrumental roles on multiple product teams and subsequently across the organisation designing and building reliable processes and systems from design to delivery for GoJek, overseeing a growth of 6600x in order volumes in 2 years. Prior to joining GoJek, Ranjan served on teams at ThoughtWorks, Proteans and iCode software.

Dr. Vivek Raghavan

Chief Product Manager and Biometric Architect UIDAI


Dr. Vivek Raghavan is an out-of-the-box problem solver, former serial entrepreneur and angel investor.


Vivek is the Chief Product Manager and Biometric Architect at the Unique Identification Authority of India. He has been responsible for the design, implementation and scale out of the technology platform for Aadhaar, the world’s largest identity program mostly as a volunteer. He joined the Aadhaar project just when the first Aadhaar was issued, and was there when the billionth Aadhaar was generated.


In the past year, Vivek has caught the AI bug and has been exploring using AI for various governance initiatives. He has also served as CTO for Team Indus, India's entry to the Google Lunar X-Prize, which aimed to land a spacecraft on the surface of the moon.


Vivek spent 20 years in the field of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), successfully founding, running and selling two EDA companies and being responsible for the design and development of multiple market leading EDA products. He has held senior management positions at Magma Design Automation, Synopsys and Avant! Corporation. 


Vivek has an M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a B. Tech. from IIT Delhi. Vivek has an eclectic portfolio of angel investments, including Team Indus, Gear Design Automation, eZeTap, ZipDial, Healthify, and Vayavya Labs among others.
