Gina Miller, Co-Founder of SCM Direct and Campaigner

Political, technological and economic volatility have reached new heights, making unanticipated threats and challenges to established norms and practices inevitable. But as Gina Miller’s experience demonstrates, what matters is how we anticipate and respond to such events. Sharing lessons and inspiration gleaned from years of business leadership and activism, Gina will explore strategies to transform personal and professional headwinds into meaningful opportunities for learning and improvement. She will demonstrate that when approached the right way, potentially negative forces can be translated into positive outcomes, providing valuable insights for businesses - and business leaders - tasked with navigating an increasingly complex environment.

10.05 - Bend, don’t break: Building resilience into your business

Luke Vinogradov, Digital Transformation Principal, and Kathy Gettelfinger, Portfolio Delivery Director, ThoughtWorks

Change is now happening at such a pace that everything we’ve built is in constant danger of being outdated. “Transformation” is on everyone’s agenda, but a focus on some imagined endpoint leaves us struggling to catch up. We need to change the way we think about change. ThoughtWorks’ experience has shown us that those organisations who are thriving tend to be clear on their purpose and accept everything else to be fluid. These “modern digital businesses” have resilience built in: a mindset which embraces continuous change and a set of capabilities which enable them to adapt. We’ll dive into the specific technological and organisational building blocks that equip enterprises to absorb and even benefit from shifts in customer expectations or competitive landscape. Real-world examples will bring to life this new approach to making your business inherently future-ready.
