Marcus, a retail industry expert at Thoughtworks, joined the company after having had more than 13 years of experience in various information-management related positions at the METRO Group. While at METRO, he established and led multiple IT-project teams and/or departments.
From 2012 to 2014, Marcus led the METRO Innovation Center. In 2014, he helped create and implement the METRO Digital Transformation initiative, and this has made METRO a multi-channel wholesaler.
Over the years, Marcus has learned that in order to cultivate an atmosphere of innovation and disruptive thinking, one needs to promote a climate of self-managed teams and the freedom to work agile.
