Alloy is designed to be an all-in-one telemetry collector for all telemetry data, including logs, metrics and traces. It supports collecting commonly used telemetry data formats such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Datadog. With Promtail’s recent deprecation, Alloy is emerging as a go-to choice for telemetry data collection — especially for logs — if you’re using the Grafana observability stack.
