Driving Retail Innovation Faster: An Omni-Channel Co-op

Join us and the Co-operative Group on 25 September 2013 at the Retail Systems Multi-Channel Conference in London to hear our experience of launching omni-channel programmes, driven by a build, measure and learn approach.

With more than 3,000 food convenience stores across the UK and a wide range of additional brands, the Co-op needed a strategy to go digital to meet their customers where they are doing their shopping.  Working together, the Co-op team and Thoughtworks developed a roadmap to an omni-channel future. 'Delightful Food Deals' is the Co-op's first initiative on this long journey.

In this session, Dane Stanley, the Group Head of Digital and Social Media for the Co-operative, and I will discuss how in two weeks we worked to figure out how to 'build the right thing' and also 'how to build it right.'  Here's what we will focus on.

1.      Product and digital ideation by putting the customer first.

2.      Choosing technology that will last and support your ambitious mission.

3.      How to focus on the customer and rapidly input their feedback into your product releases.
