The team took a lean product development approach and kept evolving the app by introducing new functionality over time to constantly excite users. Recently the team introduced the meteor shower finder. The radiant finder shows users where in the sky they should be looking, which is a truly unique feature in this space. The app keeps users up to date with the best times to watch these magnificent sky shows, what is causing them, and how the moon will impact their viewing experience.
FITS is the first meteorite reporting app in Australia enabling the public to get involved with a research project in real-time. The FITS app has received global recognition and is helping Curtin University get a better understanding of how our planet was formed.
