  • Companies with a rich ecosystem can't operate on “gut-driven” insights so you have to be “data driven.” This involves a spectrum of solutions, from traditional reporting to machine learning, fueled by reliable, high-quality data that is gathered from every touch point within the ecosystem of your organization.
  • Turning data into actionable intelligence: It's not about how many megabytes of data you have stored that nobody understands. But, what percentage of the domains in your business are providing data in a meaningful, usable, trustworthy way for the rest of the organization to tap into.
  • Organizationally and technology-wise, there is a gap where business happens, and real actions happen – and where goals get formed. Bring the data closer to the source and closer to the people who understand it, and then empower those business units with data capabilities so they can easily access and share their data with the rest of the organization.
  • When your business goes from a single function and into multidimensional - the failure modes are typically around scale, and having access to diverse data sets with quality and reliability.
  • In the "next pandemic phase" model - change is eminent and it's continuous. You will need to have data to have your finger on the pulse of your business. 
  • Successful transformation journeys require a top-down vision to mobilize people. And then bottom up support and ownership; new roles to be defined. 
  • Data Mesh as an approach: If you are experiencing pain points around the scale, or you have bottlenecks, and you're thinking about breaking this monolith down – you may need to commit to a decentralized mode of operating around data.
