Role/Title: Lead Consultant, Business Analyst

Describe your experience so far at Thoughtworks in one or two words: Autonomous

What does your job involve?

My job heavily involves communicating with various people in order to understand, analyze and validate the requirements or needs. This is to assess how the current business operates, determine how to improve and finally help to put the plan into action.

In addition to the project work, I also have a chance to work with the local market unit team to shape the proposal that we will use to pitch our works to the prospects, with the objective to expand our client base in Thailand.

What is the most rewarding aspect of what you do?

Being able to add value (both tangible and intangible) to our clients with our quality works and the way we work and also to help the company to achieve the goal by getting new local logos.

We’d love to hear about your career journey. Can you talk about what led you to Thoughtworks and your decision to join Thoughtworks?

At that time, I was looking for a business-oriented role and Thoughtworks approached me with the Business Analyst position. They also offered me a learning opportunity and training related to the Financial Services Industry, which is the industry that matches my interests and the career path that I want to pursue. Coupled with the fact that Thoughtworks has long been known for being a pioneer of agile software development and many of the technology innovations, I decided to onboard this ship eventually.

What has been your favorite part of your Thoughtworks career to date?

The culture of encouraging people to be autonomous. Having said that, autonomy here doesn’t mean working in separation and no collaboration with others or doing whatever you want to do whenever you want to do. Being autonomous here means that you have all the rights to shape your ways of working that would allow you to perform at your full potential to achieve the goal or follow your career path/growth.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of joining Thoughtworks?

When you consider moving from one company to another, the grass is always greener on the other side! However each and every company has its own good and bad side and Thoughtworks is not an exception. There will definitely be something that you don’t expect or are not happy with. My advice is do not expect that everything will be ideal!

Once you join, embrace a number of good things that Thoughtworks has to offer you. For the things that can be improved, voice out and feel free to make it happen! There will be tons of support to back you up here at this company. That is the one thing that I can assure you at Thoughtworks.

Anything else that you wanted to add about your Thoughtworks journey?

For new joiners, don’t worry too much about getting started here! There will be a runway for you to test drive and start learning about our values and how we work. Next step is just … enjoy your ride.
