Jackrabbit Oak, formerly named Jackrabbit 3, is a scalable and performant implementation of hierarchical content repository for use as the foundation of content management system. In addition to file based storage solution, MongoDB and RDMS storage are also supported, and preferred in large volume use scenarios. Although implemented in Java, it can be easily accessed from various platforms via standards like JCR.
