Program Director

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Program Director to drive the successful execution and growth of our strategic transformation programs. This is a hands-on leadership role for a client-facing professional with a proven track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects within top-tier consulting environments. You will own the end-to-end delivery of our most critical engagements, while serving as a trusted advocate for the client and a catalyst for future service expansion.

Job responsibilities 

• Delivery Leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex business transformation programs. Ensure projects are delivered against agreed scopes and defined milestones, maintaining the highest quality standards while consistently exceeding client expectations.
• Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with C-level executives and key client stakeholders. Serve as the primary point of contact for all program-related matters and proactively manage risks and issues.
• Change Management Leadership: Oversee comprehensive change management strategies to ensure high adoption rates, minimal disruption, and the realisation of tangible business benefits for the client.
• Team and Program Management: Provide mentorship and guidance to project teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Oversee resource allocation, timelines, and commercial program performance across multiple engagements.
• Organic Account Growth: Identify and pursue opportunities for program expansion and follow-on business within existing accounts. Partner with solution teams to contribute to proposals and statements of work based on your deep understanding of the client’s evolving needs.

Job qualifications 

Technical Skills 

• 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 8+ years in a leadership role at a consultancy and/or engineering firm.

Professional Skills

• Proven success in leading and delivering multi-million pound, multi-year transformation programs.
• Expert-level ability to manage project scope and commercial performance, ensuring delivery stays aligned with agreed-upon milestones and business objectives.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a natural ability to translate complex strategic concepts for both technical teams and C-suite stakeholders.
• Demonstrated expertise in applying change management frameworks to ensure high user adoption and the long-term sustainability of business outcomes.
• A track record of identifying and securing follow-on opportunities through delivery excellence and deep understanding of client needs.
• Nice to have: Master's degree in a relevant field or an MBA.

Work Modality

Hybrid model - Thoughtworks office or at our client's office location for 3-4 working days of the week, depending on business or clients’ needs.
