Matthew Johnston
Global Program Manager for Disability Inclusion | Digital Accessibility AdvocateThroughout my extensive technology career, I have taken on roles from software programming and technical lead to technical delivery management. Currently, I am the Global Program Manager for Disability Inclusion at Thoughtworks. In this role, I am dedicated to positioning Thoughtworks as the employer of choice for individuals with disabilities and the preferred partner for accessibility and innovation. As a passionate disability champion and digital accessibility advocate, I am particularly interested in leveraging technology, including AI, to foster a more inclusive world.
In addition to my work at Thoughtworks, my commitment to digital inclusivity is further demonstrated through my role at Scope, the UK Disability charity, where I serve as a Board Trustee and Chair of the External Audiences Committee. This allows me to cultivate collaborations that drive advancements in digital inclusivity for disabled individuals.
I also serve as a trustee for the National Association for Deafened People, where I advocate for assistive technologies for those with hearing loss. Furthermore, I contribute to creating an inclusive environment for all, including people with disabilities, through my involvement on the EDI Advisory board for Fulham Football Club.
I was born deaf and currently live in London.
