Technology Exchange: Future of payments

Technology Exchange: Future of payments

April 28, Sydney, Australia

Building the next generation of payments infrastructure for instant, intelligent and agentic payments

This Technology Exchange explores how Australia’s payments landscape is evolving, and what it will take for organisations to prepare for an agentic future shaped by NPP, PayTo and the consolidation of BPAY and eftpos within Australian Payments Plus (AP+).

Moving beyond high-level strategy, the session will focus on the engineering reality of building scalable, resilient payments platforms that operate 24/7, support instant domestic and inbound cross-border payments, and respond to increasing expectations around risk, fraud and regulatory change.

We’ll also explore Australia’s roadmap for instant and cross-border payments, digital identity and digital currencies, and what this enables for the next wave of innovation, from PayTo and real-time superannuation to digital wallets, new account-to-account experiences and the emergence of agentic commerce.
