Thoughtworks named IT Vendor of the Year at UK IT Industry Awards 2020

Thoughtworks has been named as ‘IT Vendor of the Year 2020’ at the UK IT Industry Awards, for recognition of outstanding performance in technology excellence, investment in the IT industry, persity in the workplace, customer satisfaction and innovation.


Aside from working to help clients adapt to the new normal during COVID-19, some of Thoughtworks’ outstanding initiatives - which stand as testament to this award - include:


  • XConf and TechRadar, platforms that help technologists connect and share expert knowledge
  • Internship programs like Northcoders, which have worked to nurture persity in the technology sector by helping people kickstart careers as software developers
  • Work for One Million Mentors and The Museum of Homelessness, working to give back to the community on a national scale
  • Thoughtworks is also in Stonewall’s Top 100 UK employers


The nominee’s for this award are also judged on their commitment to persity, something that Thoughtworks promotes through its recruitment practices, leadership programs, employee opportunities, training and retention policies. Forty percent of Thoughtworks UK workforce is made up of women and non-binary people compared to the technology industry standard of 19%.
