Susan Engley

Susan Engley brings deep expertise in homeland security and public safety to Thoughtworks, working with public-sector leaders to advance digital transformation and technology-enabled mission outcomes. With more than 25 years of experience across the technology and government services landscape, Susan partners with agencies to modernize mission-critical systems, improve operational effectiveness, and deliver measurable impact at scale.

Her work spans complex federal environments where modernization, security, and user experience must move in lockstep. Susan has spent her career helping organizations navigate change—redefining systems and processes to reduce friction, improve outcomes, and responsibly apply commercially proven and emerging technologies in service of national security and public safety missions.

Prior to joining Thoughtworks, Susan founded GovGrowth, a boutique consultancy focused on helping innovative small and mid-tier companies accelerate and sustain growth in the federal market. She previously held senior business development and sales leadership roles at organizations including Accenture Federal Services and LexisNexis Special Services, working closely with agencies across the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, Department of State, and other mission-focused federal organizations.

Susan is an active voice in the GovCon community and an ACT-IAC Fellow, contributing to industry conversations on federal technology modernization, innovation adoption, and effective public-private collaboration.
