Rebecca Parsons is CTO, Emerita at Thoughtworks, responsible for driving Thoughtworks’ excellence in technology.
Before joining Thoughtworks in 1999, she was a researcher and college lecturer in computer science. After completing her Ph.D., she conducted research in compilers, program optimization, distributed computation, programming languages, theory of computation, machine learning and computational biology. Rebecca is the co-author of several books, including “Domain-Specific Languages,” “The Thoughtworks Anthology,” and “Building Evolutionary Architectures.”
In addition to deep technology, Rebecca is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the industry, committed to increasing the number of women in coding and STEM. She is on the boards of CodeChix, AnitaB.org and the Agile Alliance, and an advisor to Women Who Code.
