Privacy-focused web analytics is a technique for gathering web analytics without compromising end user privacy by keeping the end users truly anonymous. One surprising consequence of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance is the decision taken by many organizations to degrade the user experience with complex cookie consent processes, especially when the user doesn't immediately consent to the "all the cookies" default settings. Privacy-focused web analytics has the dual benefit of both observing the spirit and letter of GDPR while also avoiding the need to introduce intrusive cookie consent forms.
