Innovator Leslie Jarrin tapped as Managing Director to lead new office
Thoughtworks, a global technology company, today announced the opening of its business operations in Quito, Ecuador. The company spent twelve months immersing itself in the local and business community to experience firsthand Ecuador’s affinity for collaborative development.
Ecuador’s economy is in the midst of a transformative era, as the government and private businesses have worked together to foster open-source networking opportunities for entrepreneurs, IT professionals and the youth of the country. One of the key goals for Thoughtworks in the country is to nurture local talent and empower future technology leaders to harness the latest practices and strategies of the global digital community. As a company of purpose-led technologists, Ecuador represents an opportunity for Thoughtworks to collaborate with organizations, helping better humanity through software and drive positive change.
The opening of the Ecuador office is part of Thoughtworks’ continued growth in Latin America, starting with the opening of offices throughout Brazil beginning with Porto Alegre in 2009, followed by offices in Recife a few years later and most recently São Paulo. “We are excited to have Leslie Jarrin joining our newest global office,” said Craig Gorsline, President and Chief Operating Officer for Thoughtworks. “Leslie has been at the forefront of the tech community in Ecuador, co-founding MachangaraSoft Corporation, and her experience driving change for the greater good aligns her perfectly with our mission.”
