Agent Plugins

Agent Plugins is an open standard for packaging reusable agent components into portable plugins. The first version, launched by a cross-vendor collaboration including Amazon, Microsoft and OpenAI, defines a shared format for agent skills and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. Although the specification is deliberately minimal, an open standard is an important step forward for an ecosystem that has so far been fragmented. We've found that the "small interoperability floor" makes it easy to extend an existing skills repository so that it doubles as an Agent Plugin.
