Thoughtworks started doing HackDays from 2012 in partnership with REA Group. Every quarter we invite “Hackers" to submit their innovative ideas and pitch for team members to work together with them in making it happen. We have altogether produced more than 100 ideas and more than 10 of them are in production process since the beginning of the serial event.
The innovations that come out of Hack Day are deeply lived on in the business. They can either help building new products, inproving existing products or features on the websites and apps, or create inventions that optimize business systems.
Here’s an example of an idea turning into Real Business: REA’s Home Ideas section. It is now a permanent feature of realestate.com.au that continously delivering value to consumers.
