Thoughtworks (NASDAQ: TWKS), a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design and engineering to drive digital innovation, today announced the launch of its Asia Pacific (APAC) business and the appointment of Karin Verloop as the company’s new Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, with Kristan Vingrys being appointed the Regional Managing Director APAC.
As the company rapidly grows across six Asia Pacific countries, Thoughtworks has created the Asia Pacific region to better meet clients’ needs by expanding their access to the best talent across APAC, making it easier for them to do business with Thoughtworks and supporting their expansion into APAC countries creating structure for growth, synergy, efficiencies and collaboration.
“The move to a regional Asia Pacific structure will be key to facilitating growth and expansion for both Thoughtworks and our clients over the coming years,” said Kristan Vingrys. “The new structure will still include specific country management but it will also provide better opportunities for collaboration and the ability to share key capabilities across the region. Karin’s appointment demonstrates the level of investment Thoughtworks is making in this region.”
Karin Verloop has more than 15 years of experience in Thoughtworks. After spending the past five years as the co-Managing Director in Spain, she has returned to Melbourne and started her new role on February 6th.
Karin joined Thoughtworks as a business development manager in 2008 and was later appointed as a general manager in Australia’s Melbourne office. She has been key to Thoughtworks’ growth strategy, having opened and managed offices in Perth, Singapore and Spain.
Karin said, “I'm excited about coming back to Thoughtworks Australia where it all began 15 years ago. I look forward to working with our local clients and employees to drive growth and new opportunities in Australia, New Zealand and across the Asia Pacific region.”
“The new regional Asia Pacific Thoughtworks structure will help connect our local business, and our customers, to many more regional and global initiatives as well as Thoughtworks innovation.”
The launch of the Thoughtworks Asia Pacific regional structure follows the company’s expansion into Vietnam, and last month’s announcement that Thoughtworks was recognized by leading global research and advisory firm Forrester as a Leader in Cloud Migration and Managed Service Partners in Asia Pacific and China.
