Foundry’s CIO 100 award recognizes enterprise excellence and innovation in IT
Foundry’s CIO has named Thoughtworks, a global technology consultancy that integrates strategy, design and engineering to drive digital innovation, as a 2022 CIO 100 award winner. For more than 30 years, the CIO 100 awards have recognized innovative organizations around the world that exemplify the highest level of strategic and operational excellence in IT.
“This year’s CIO 100 class demonstrates grit, innovation and deep teamwork. Many projects are related to streamlining data flows and insights to drive the business, bringing innovations like the metaverse to life, and driving value during the pandemic in myriad ways,” said Anne McCrory, Group VP, Customer Experience & Operations, Foundry, formerly IDG Communications, Inc. “We are honored to showcase these achievements and the people behind them as we gather in person once again for a team-based experience at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards in California in August.”
Thoughtworks CIO David Whalley realized that for Thoughtworks developers it was critically important to create an environment in which developers can be effective; they can use their time well; applying their energy and creativity to build useful, working software for their users. Whalley's team created and deployed NEO, Thoughtworks’ own in-house built self-service developer experience portal that unifies and streamlines all the platform capabilities to help developers to accelerate application and product development and increases the effectiveness of Thoughtworks’ development teams.
The recognition by CIO as a winner of the 2022 CIO Awards places the Thoughtworks IT organization among the most innovative IT organizations for its success.
“The current high demand for tech talent only serves to underscore the effect a healthy and effective engineering organization can have on motivating and retaining talent,” said David Whalley, Chief Information Officer at Thoughtworks. “It was imperative to reimagine the developer experience and provide multiple self-service capabilities for our developers to speed up time to turn their ideas into reality. With NEO, we contribute to the company’s operational efficiency by improving developer effectiveness by 20-30%.”
"Our internal IT teams have worked incredibly hard to make the digital platform strategy a reality for Thoughtworks developers. This award is a testament to the world class Thoughtworks IT organization and its drive towards continuous improvement in the pursuit of excellence", said Swapnil Deshpande, Chief Digital Officer at Thoughtworks who led the NEO initiative.
Executives from the winning companies will be recognized at the CIO 100 Symposium & Awards.
