Prestigious Award from AnitaB.org Honors Women in Tech Making a Notable Impact on Business and Society
Thoughtworks, a global software and digital transformation consultancy, is proud to announce that its chief technology officer, Dr. Rebecca Parsons, will be honored as the 2018 recipient of the Technical Leadership Abie Award from AnitaB.org as part of the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) - the largest gathering in the world of women technologists. This annual award honors one female technologist with deep technical expertise who demonstrates an ongoing and impactful commitment to increasing the representation of women in technology.
Dr. Parsons is a leader who has used her platform as chief technology officer of a global company to inspire woman seeking leadership roles in the tech industry. She describes herself as first and foremost a scientist, with a strong love of programming languages. Beyond her technical achievements, she dedicates countless hours to her own continued learning in technology and science, while mentoring, speaking, and supporting the advancement of women in STEM fields.

Dr. Parsons has for decades used her knowledge and technical experience in applications development across a range of industries and systems. She leads the Thoughtworks global technical staff with wisdom, a willingness to embrace new technologies and a deep understanding of tech culture. Under Dr. Parsons’ leadership, Thoughtworks’ efforts to increase persity within the company have continued to progress and receive recognition. Most recently, Thoughtworks was named a 2017 Winner of the Top Companies for Women Technologist Program by AnitaB.org for their work creating an environment that welcomes and celebrates multifaceted experiences and identities.
