Thoughtworks and Public Data Works implemented Complaint Manager for the State of Hawaii, to provide a consistent and transparent complaint process for their penal system. Initially deployed in New Orleans to track police misconduct, the tool is now used in Hawaii to track correctional complaints.

Non-profits are one of the five industries most affected by cybercrime, which jeopardizes their vital work. Thoughtworks partnered with Brazilian non-profit, Centro de Trabalho Indigenista (CTI) -- an organization that supports the rights of Indigenous populations -- to help it improve its security, project usability, and performance.

Women's Rights Organizations (WROs) in China encounter numerous challenges in their development, such as fundraising and market research. To support these organizations, Thoughtworks China, in collaboration with UN Women Beijing, launched the ‘Gender Equality Companion Program,’ a capacity-building initiative.

Supporting scale for tree planting with Tree O2

Tree planting is a cost-effective method to combat climate change, but monitoring and accrediting planting schemes can be challenging. Thoughtworks partnered with the xpand Foundation to improve their TreeO2 tool, enhancing the auditing process for their community forestry program, WithOneSeed. This program pays Timorese subsistence farmers to plant and maintain trees, promoting carbon sequestration and biodiversity.

In early 2022, Thoughtworks partnered with First Light, an Oxford-based fusion research company, to support their mission of developing sustainable fusion energy. The collaboration focuses on helping First Light adopt agile practices, scale their facilities, and grow their organization, ensuring their research remains flexible and cost-effective.

Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya

People experiencing homelessness face significant health inequalities, poorer health outcomes and a shorter life expectancy than the rest of the population. Blopup, a project by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and NGO Salut Sense Sostre, seeks to screen, diagnose, treat and track adherence to treatment for highly vulnerable groups - beginning with the homeless population in Barcelona.

WiLD - Developing women leaders

Women in Leadership Development (WiLD) programs have a longstanding presence at Thoughtworks, adapting to various needs over the years. Thoughtworks’ Southeast Asia (SEA) region, encompassing Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam, experienced significant growth but lacked sufficient women or gender-diverse (W/GD) leaders, particularly in professional services and technical roles. To address this, the SEA Women in Leadership Development (WiLD) program was launched in 2022.

Contributing to healthy aging possibilities

Dementia is the second leading cause of death in Australia, and it has no cure. It also has a profound effect on communities – it’s estimated that 1.5million Australians are involved in the care of someone with dementia today. Therefore, the more that we know about the aging process, and dementia specifically, the better. Building this knowledge is the foundation of an initiative we’ve been supporting at the University of Sydney for several years.

Boosting access to employment with ‘IT 4 Teens’

Thoughtworks Romania partnered with the Informal School of IT to offer an introductory training course to students with disabilities. This multi-stage program aims to improve access to employment for young people with motor disabilities through technical training, educational support and fostering links to digital industries.
