IT Support Consultant (TechOps)

Newcastle, UK

In TechOps we do more than just IT support. We are a team of passionate and forward thinking people, who work closely with our colleagues to enable an amazing workplace and IT experience.

We have very ambitious plans for our team and need the right people on board to develop a vision on the idea of an ‘office of the future’ using the best tech. We’re looking for someone who is self motivated, and is as happy both autonomously leading an initiative & collaborating within a team. You’ll need to be organised and able to prioritise local tasks alongside larger projects.

This is a junior role so we welcome tech fluency; existing experience is great, but we really value an eagerness to learn. As we establish our brand new office in The North, we need someone who can help us define and craft what the IT experience of a Thoughtworks Newcastle office should be! As most of our team are distributed, you will also have the opportunity to travel to other offices, predominantly within the UK but also occasionally across Europe.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot hardware issues, and also comfortable in explaining the solutions to users with different knowledge levels.
  • Familiarity with Macs and other iOS devices.
  • An excellent communicator with users and stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the importance of Information Security.
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously, like online ticketing, office meeting room management, in person support and team collaboration.
  • A willingness to try new things and share them with colleagues
  • Some knowledge of Windows and/or Linux is a bonus but not essential.
