Java 7 Upgrade

We upgraded from OpenJDK 6 after discovering a memory leak which affected both our cloud offering as well as some of our onsite customers, specifically those running Ubuntu. We discovered that OpenJDK 6 was causing Java finalizers to run in an unstable state, leading to resource leaks.

We’ll be bundling OpenJDK 7 in 14.1 for our Windows customers. If you are an onsite customer that is hosting Mingle on a non-windows machine, we recommend that you upgrade to OpenJDK 7 as soon as possible. Our cloud offering is already running OpenJDK 7 so those of you using Mingle in the cloud are no longer at risk for memory leaks.
