Lead Consultant:Mainframe SME

Responsibilities

  • Understand the existing mainframe applications and its ecosystem and provide inputs in the form of Functional Requirements
  • Analyse the data stores and provide as data requirement
  • Involved in planning and execution of mainframe migration efforts from assessment, discovery, planning,  testing to the migration delivery, and modernization phases
  • Coming up with test strategy for parallel testing
  • Being hands on and making REST APIs available for data migration and testing efforts
  • Developing REST APIs for data migration and testing efforts 
  • Develop interfaces to web based applications interacting using MQs, XMLs, FTPs
  • Collaborate with leads and products developers to plan and execute work
  • Manage relationships with different stakeholders across geographies

Experience

  • 10+ years of hands-on technical experience with mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, Eztrieve, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, IMS-DB/DC, PL/I, Java, Rexx, GDGs, and VSAM
  • Exposure to version control tools like Endevor, ChangeMan
  • Hands on experience in developing batch and online programs
  • Experience in building applications that interact with web based applications using connectors and adaptors
  • Experience with tools and methodologies used to migrate mainframe workloads via hardware/middleware emulation, automated code conversion, and replatforming
  • Experience with analyzing mainframe applications and data stores to formulate plans for modernizing workloads that achieve customer’s desired business outcomes
  • Experience being a technical lead executing phase wise mainframe migration efforts from conception to delivery 
  • Current hands-on implementation experience required
