Thoughtworks is searching for an Outbound Business Development Manager to join our New Business team and support our growing clients in North America. Business Development Managers at Thoughtworks are responsible for developing and securing a pipeline of new opportunities and establishing an early relationship with the client.  

Job responsibilities

  • Leverage your own and TW-provided market research to identify, build a business case for and present your pursuit targets
  • Develop targeted outbound prospecting, campaigns and strategy to build pipeline of targeted new clients
  • Build “win-win” value propositions at the company and at individual levels with clients
  • Partner and collaborate on pursuits with Technology Sales Directors (TSDs) with 20+ years of industry experience focused on Delivery, Product and Technical Architecture.
  • Successfully convert new target accounts, creating the foundation for long-term, value-based relationships. Success is nurturing and the sale of win-win value propositions and nurturing executive relationships for continuing business
  • Approach client executives as true business & technology transformation partners, expanding Thoughtworks engagement to encompass the breadth and depth of our capabilities across all global service lines.  
  • Leverage available tools, events and marketing support to develop pitches, proposals, presentations, etc for target accounts
  • Recognize that our people and our clients are at the center of everything we do

Job qualifications

  • “Hunter” mentality with a proven record of success generating initial meetings to sales closures through a disciplined process.
  • 2-3 years of current or former SDR/BDR experience focused on selling premium technology solutions and/or professional services
  • Demonstrable track record of generating new business opportunities within technology professional services (preferred) or software solutions
  • Strong experience leveraging Salesforce CRM, ZoomInfo, Sales Navigator (and other Sales Tech Stack) for building accounts, contacts, 10-15+ multi-touch campaigns to drive meetings, opportunities and closed business with new clients.
  • Experience building and leveraging Salesforce (and other tools)  for outbound targeting and multi-touch campaign management and tracking
  • Technology and consulting acumen with the ability to positively translate into business value
  • Strong customer value orientation - you want your clients to succeed with their objectives
  • 5 years or more experience selling premium, not commoditized solutions and/or professional services within technology industry
  • Comfortability and experience engaging with C-level stakeholders at the business and technology level, using a consultative selling approach to maximize the customer outcomes
  • An entrepreneurial drive that ensures you will be able to rally others around necessary activities and be willing to “get your hands dirty” with artifact creation.

Other things to know

While we’ve traditionally been a traveling consultancy, travel is not required for this role at the moment. We anticipate the need for travel to our client locations in the future when it’s deemed safe.
