After getting her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering and spending a few years tinkering with satellites, Tamara felt a calling to join ThoughtWorks. It was here that she found she loved writing clean code. Additionally, she realized she passionately believed in easy code deployments, infrastructure as code, and continuous delivery and integration. She generally tends towards writing back-end software and she enjoys both the flow of functional programming and the corniness of a joke about technology. ThoughtWorks also introduced her to Tim Tams, the best cookies ever, especially when dipped in coffee.
When she's not at work, she's drinking excessive amounts of coffee, jumping out of airplanes, and wishing that the consultant life style allowed for dog ownership.
The thing I love most about my work is
The constant change in client, location, and technology. I never stop learning and I never get bored.
The best advice I can give a current or future ThoughtWorker is
Never be afraid to voice your opinion. At worst, you will learn things and gain a new perspective. At best, you will have the satisfaction of being heard, contributing to your team, and helping to find the best possible solution.
