ThoughtWorks Ventures Digital Cities Event BarcelonaThoughtWorks Ventures Digital Cities Event Barcelona

Networking Event

Start your Digital City Experience at ThoughtWorks Barcelona:

Date: 13 November 2017

Time: 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Location: ThoughtWorks Barcelona

(Career de Roc Boronat, 117)

Coinciding with the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona, we are opening our new ThoughtWorks Barcelona home to passionate leaders from enterprises, governments, start-ups and not-for-profits, for an exciting networking event.

About the event:

While nearly every major city has a 2020 Digital City strategy we're still seeing a major disconnect between strategy and execution. Rather than designing a master digital city plan years in advance, the focus should shift to treating cities as platforms, to enable the creation of a stack of solutions from multiple sources over time.

Our guest speaker, Francesca Bria, Chief Technology and Digital Innovation Officer at Barcelona City Council is the Project Coordinator and acts as the official representative of Decode, a consortium group under NESTA, who are building a world first citizen-centric platform in Amsterdam and Barcelona that is putting citizens in control over their data.

Join us for food, drinks, networking and an inspirational lightning talk ahead of the Smart City Expo World Congress.

About the Space - ThoughtWorks Barcelona

ThoughtWorks Barcelona Office

At ThoughtWorks we have a unique view of the role of a technology company in society. When we decided to enter Spain and open the ThoughtWorks Barcelona office in 2016, we consciously created a space that is more expansive, open and inclusive than we've ever had before.

The ThoughtWorks Barcelona office is a digital hub that brings together Barcelona’s tech and creative communities, social innovators, enterprises, governments and not-for-profits, to create something amazing and impactful together.
