One of the most interesting stories I recall from my time at ThoughtWorks was when
I went from riding a bike across San Francisco one evening with a leading technologist from the EFF, picking his brains on cryptocurrencies and how they could be used to reshape society, to the very next day flying off to meet with an executive from a major credit card company to discuss the future of digital payments and how they might use cryptocurrencies. It's a privilege to work in a company that sits at the intersection of social activism and business, constantly looking to share the best thinking between these realms.

Basically I triangulated in on ThoughtWorks. It was sometime in 2003 and I came across them in three different ways: first I saw "com.thoughtworks.xstream" in the header of some Open Source code I was using; second someone suggested that CruiseControl might be a solution to our messed up spaghetti build processes; finally I heard of a friend applying to ThoughtWorks and that third mention was what tipped me over the edge into applying.
