Program manager for diversity & inclusion, North America

James joined ThoughtWorks in 2011 as a Business Analyst. Over the last several years, he has juggled a variety of roles including being a Project Manager for ThoughtWorks clients, Co-BA Community Lead, Office Designer, and North American Program Manager for Diversity & Inclusion.

James' passions in the tech industry lie at the intersection of people and technology. In his various roles, James applies this passion through leading project teams to solve complex business and technology problems, coaching others in Agile Analysis practices, mentoring peers and prospective technologists in their tech careers, and driving diversity and inclusivity campaigns to inform, empower, and support others.

The thing I love most about my work is

I always have the ability to learn new things and play a variety of roles, with a constant purpose of finding new and creative ways to solve real problems.

The thing I'm most proud of from my time here is

Being able to meet so many smart and talented people who consider me a peer, and also allow me to contribute my own ideas to the impactful work we do.

The best advice I can give a current or future ThoughtWorker is

Be okay with saying "I don't know", but always be ready to follow with "But, I will find out". Our industry and technology is always evolving, and at ThoughtWorks, we believe everyone always has something new to learn.
