ThoughtWorks, a global software company, will be focusing efforts on its on-premise open source continuous delivery tool, GoCD, and phasing out its cloud-based continuous integration and continuous deployment tool, Snap CI. The decision is based on the intent to maximize impact on how software is built.
ThoughtWorks has been a key innovator in continuous delivery and has helped thousands deliver software over the past 20 years and strengthening their commitment to deliver powerful build-and-deploy tools to customers.
“The large growth in GoCD adoption in 2016 makes it clear that GoCD is a key enabling tool for companies seeking continuous delivery. We anticipate more and more organizations beginning their continuous delivery journey in 2017 and we intend to focus our energy on helping them. We are a mission driven company focused on helping our industry improve, think differently, and work differently,” said David Rice, Managing Director of ThoughtWorks Products.
According to the 2016 State of DevOps Report, high performing teams practicing continuous delivery and DevOps are significantly improving their throughput, going from small numbers of deploys per year to hundreds of deploys per year. They have also improved their lead time for changes, going from days to minutes. ThoughtWorks wants to build on this momentum helping more and more organizations become high performers, achieving the value and benefits of continuous delivery and DevOps.
ThoughtWorks also supports continuous delivery innovation through sponsorship of a variety of events including DevOpsDays, PIPELINE The Continuous Delivery Conference, QCon, and DevOps West Conference, as well as CD workshops and webinars.
