We are looking for someone with previous payroll experience and a people-centric approach to help drive and deliver our payroll service across the UK.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Overview of role</strong></p> <p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Our Senior Payroll administrator will be a key member of the Finance Team and will work closely with People Support and Mobility colleagues to enable a efficient and responsive service to our colleagues. Responsible for the processing of payroll for circa 400 employees; responding to and resolving queries related to payroll, pension, manual calculations, processing statutory payments and other calculations. Ensuring the payroll service is fully compliant with audit, statutory and regulatory obligations, whilst maintaining delivery of a high standard service.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities in more detail</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Processing of monthly UK and Expat payrolls</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Responsible for the end to end payroll experience</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">New joiners, leavers and global assignees</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Processing of year end payroll processes</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Work closely with payroll bureau to ensure accurate and timely completion of monthly</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Liaise with relevant external suppliers, maintaining a good working relationship with our</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Liaise with company pension provider to effectively manage company pension and auto</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ability to process Manual calculations including statutory payments {SMP, SSP, SPP etc.)</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Liaising with HMRC to ensure compliance of statutory legislation, including: Tax and Payroll, outsourced payroll provider, enrolment process and deductions,  as well as dealing with a variety of queries from employees.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">National Insurance to ensure the timely and accurately distribution of all tax information and reporting including P45, P60, P46’s, P11D’s and PGO’s</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Help on PSA calculations on annual basis.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Submission of payroll Shadow payroll.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Management of annual payroll auditing.</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Provide specialist pay and benefit advice to employees and People Team</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Continuous improvement of existing processes</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Producing ad hoc payroll reports and supporting regular salary reviews</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pair with the Head of People to model annual pay reviews (Spring &amp; Autumn)</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ensuring up to date records are kept for all employee data</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ownership of payroll related projects</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Skills, experience and attributes..</strong></p> <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Previous experience of being accountable for a payroll in a stand alone role</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Solid understanding of payroll processes</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Professional and passionate about people</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent team working</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Comfortable with people data and analytics</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Can think commercially and prioritise accordingly</span></li> <li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Initiative and proactive approach to working</span></li> </ul>ThoughtworksLondonUK
