We are seeking a passionate leader to take on the Market Demand Lead Role role for one of our regional Markets (North or South Market) in Thoughtworks Germany. 

You will be responsible for managing and growing our accounts in the respective market including different office locations (e.g. Berlin, Cologne, and Hamburg for North, Munich, Stuttgart for the South Market). 

Working side-by-side in our Market Leadership Team, you would work with the Market Lead, the Market Delivery Lead and the Market Tech Lead. This new role will report into the respective Market Lead and the Head of Demand in Germany. The role will have 5 to 10 direct reports.

Together you will work on the overall growth strategy, ensuring the operational excellence associated with the execution of existing client engagements, supporting the Client Leadership Teams (Account teams) and acquisition of new clients (in collaboration with the Business Development  team) within the respective Market.

Job responsibilities

  • Deliver the Market’s revenue and broader balanced goals within the framework of Thoughtworks Germany’s strategy and the lenses of the Thoughtworks Why, in collaboration with the Market Leadership Team as well as our Sales Team (“Demand Team”)
  • Lead and inspire a team of Key Account Managers (Client Principals) to drive revenue growth in the Germany North Market business of ~25% year on year, with a focus on delivering exceptional client value and outcomes.
  • Support the Client Leadership Teams (Account teams) in growing, developing, and nurturing our client relationships and act as the voice of the client towards our delivery organization.  
  • Build and maintain a growing and thriving community of diverse and passionate Thoughtworkers in the Portfolio. Communicate regularly and authentically.
  • Be an entrepreneurial leader and orchestrate profitable, sustainable growth of the Portfolio so that Thoughtworks is recognised as a value-add partner and advisor of choice with our clients.
  • Ensure effective and leveraged client leadership. Collaborate with and leverage the expertise from CLTs and Service Lines to ensure that we are bringing the best of Thoughtworks services and capabilities to our clients.
  • Ensure that we are successfully delivering our services to our agreed outcomes in order to ensure client satisfaction and delight commensurate with Thoughtworks premium position in the market.
  • Maintain and develop Thoughtworks presence and preference within both the Germany North market and existing as well as new client C Suites
  • Be an active and contributory participant to and leader within Thoughtworks Germany; contribute to the success of Thoughtworks Globally and within Germany, and the North Market.

Professional skills

  • Demonstrable understanding of the German IT services market, and of client, Thoughtworks and Thoughtworker perspectives.
  • Strong sales acumen and a “growing” mindset driving growth for Thoughtworks, Thoughtworkers and yourself.
  • Very good understanding of agile software development practices and methodologies
  • Able to build and maintain deep relationships with our most senior client stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial and operational awareness to understand, balance and manage the different levers in running a successful Thoughtworks business to achieve our commercial and broader goals.
  • Deep understanding of Thoughtworks premium value proposition and of our service catalog, and the ability to collaborate closely with Client Leadership Teams and Service Lines to bring solutions and value to clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to define and execute a strategy to grow a business portfolio YoY
  • Able to build strong commercially and culturally aligned teams who deliver results for the Northern Market, for the Thoughtworks Germany and for Thoughtworks globally. Strong communication and connectivity skills. 
  • Able to build strong relationships across the business to both champion their Portfolio, while balancing it with the needs of Thoughtworks global business and German businesses. 
  • Able to build a global network, in particular with the country market teams and service line leads, to collaborate on supporting account teams and shaping new deals.
