Is it true that your recruitment process takes six months?

No! There's a lot of myth about the ThoughtWorks recruitment process. Yes, we do take our hiring very seriously and you will meet a number of ThoughtWorkers, but we do our best to work at your pace. We have provided a breakdown of the recruitment process for each country which should help you understand the time involved. You'll be pleased to hear that we've removed the "jumping through a burning hoop of fire" stage.

What should I wear for my interviews?

You'll often spend several hours with us when you come for interview and ThoughtWorks has a dress down office environment. We'd like you to dress in clothes that make you feel comfortable. We recognize that there are some people who love wearing ties, but you won't feel out of place in shorts either.

I don't live near any of your offices. Can I still apply?

We are a global company that benefits from having different people from all parts of the world work with us. It helps make us who we are and is a significant part of our culture. We encourage anyone to apply, no matter where in the world you might live. Please let us know which country you are interested in when you apply and we can then look into the possibilities of working in that location.

I don't want to travel. Can I still apply?

Operational roles obviously don't depend on travel, but our professional services consultants do. Please check our guidelines on travel to understand whether you would be comfortable signing up to the consultant lifestyle before you apply.

What kind of package do you offer?

Each country offers a different benefits package.

I don't need to go to University, I know what I'm doing

All experienced hires joining ThoughtWorks spend 2 weeks on Immersion, the main similarity to ThoughtWorks University is the location. It's a different syllabus based on giving consultants the background, tools and vocabulary they need to confidently begin their career as a ThoughtWorker. More importantly, it kick starts your global network of contacts and is a great opportunity to learn more about the company you have joined.

I can't see any roles for ThoughtWorks Studios. Why is that?

Studios is about applying the expertise of ThoughtWorks to software products. That's why we currently only take people from within our professional services teams to work on Studios projects, but as we grow, there will no doubt be room for other talented individuals to join us. Watch this space.
