The SOA Leaders Council is pleased to announce our inaugural webcast, which will feature Dick Burk, Chief Architect, Office of E-Government and Information Technology, Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President. Mr. Burk leads the cross-agency teams creating the Federal Enterprise Architecture – possibly the biggest SOA initiative in the world. His presentation was so well received at the Washington DC chapter of the SOA Leaders Council that the SOA Leaders Council now looks to share his experiences with the broader SOA community.

Mr. Burk Will Present:

  • The challenges faced at HUD when deploying enterprise services architecture and how he overcame them
  • The results of his successful SOA deployment and the impact it's had on HUD – benefits, lessons learned and ROI
  • The application of these lessons towards federal SOA and commercial SOA initiatives for service definition, consistent security and governance

Abour Richard Burk

In his role as Chief Architect, Office of E-Government and Information Technology, Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President, Mr. Burk is responsible for the Federal Enterprise Architecture Program Management Office (FEA PMO). Prior to OMB, he was the Chief Architect for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, where he was responsible for the development and delivery of HUD's Enterprise Architect Practice, Data Management Practice and Strategic Planning Process. Mr. Burk's 30-year career at HUD Headquarters spanned the research, demonstration and management of most federal activities in the fields of community development and housing rehabilitation.
