Luke Barrett , Managing Director, Europe

Luke Barrett is responsible for the company's UK and Germany operations, including the development and execution of ThoughtWorks’ European business strategy and ensuring the delivery of measurable value for its employees and clients alike.

Luke joined ThoughtWorks UK in 2004, initially as an Interaction Designer and later as Market Principal for the Manchester office, where he was instrumental in setting up operations.

Luke's background is in user experience, interaction and interface design - and he has worked for over fifteen years designing and building software applications for use by a wide variety of end-users. Working for clients large and small Luke has designed systems delivered by kiosk, web, DTV as well as rich client. Before ThoughtWorks Luke worked as Senior User Experience Architect for mPower Europe, an online financial advice provider. He began his career at Andersen Consulting (Accenture) where he worked with a wide range of clients in the finance and retail sectors. He holds a first class joint honours degree in Philosophy and Psychology, as well as a Diploma in Applied Psychology, from the University of Nottingham.
