ThoughtWorks is hosting an event, for women working in Technology, and would like to invite you to attend an evening of presentations and networking on Tuesday, 2nd October 2012 at 6.00pm.
ThoughtWorks' mission is to better humanity through software and to be a role model for the new 21st century socially responsible company.
Our keynote speaker for the evening will be Dr. Rebecca Parsons, Global CTO at ThoughtWorks. Rebecca has more than 20 years' application development experience, in industries ranging from telecommunications to emergent internet services. She has extensive experience leading in the creation of large-scale distributed object applications, services based applications, and the integration of disparate systems. A highlight of her time at ThoughtWorks was the sabbatical she took in 2010. She worked for 3 months as the Chief Architect for UNICEF in Kampala, Uganda in their Technology for Development Group as a UNICEF Fellow. In her session, Rebecca will explore some of the challenges and opportunities within the ‘Global South’ and will share some of her own personal experiences during her time spent in Uganda.
This session will be with Rebecca and other ThoughtWorkers, offering you the opportunity to ask questions about the topic as well as discussing career paths and opportunities for women working within Technology. Rebecca will be joined by:-
