An industry luminary, Curtis is best known for leading development of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM), which has become the global standard for evaluating the capability of software development organizations. Currently director of the Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ), Curtis previously directed the Software Process Program at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. Curtis also recently was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers for his contributions to software process improvement and measurement.
