The Sky’s the Limit with Skyscanner and ThoughtWorks Partnership

The ThoughtWorks team will work alongside Skyscanner’s own talented team of IT specialists

28 September 2011 - London

ThoughtWorks, the global leader in enterprise Agile development services, has today announced that it has been selected by Skyscanner as a strategic technology partner.

The ThoughtWorks team will work alongside Skyscanner’s own talented team of IT specialists, providing best-practice methodologies for an evolving Continuous Delivery framework to ensure optimum efficiency in the launch of exciting new products.

This year already has seen numerous product launches already including both an iphone and android app, a mobile site and car rental comparison as well as numerous improvements in site functionality. Working with Thoughtworks will now allow a co-sourced continuous delivery team to support further product launches planned for the coming months.

“Staggering growth in recent years means that Skyscanner needs agile software development and deployment; capable of efficiently launching the compelling and innovative products that we have in the pipeline,” says Alistair Hann, CTO at Skyscanner.
He continued, “We chose ThoughtWorks to help us achieve this as they have an excellent track record in agile development and we felt that they were culturally aligned to us and understood our aspirations. We are looking forward to the benefits that working with ThoughtWorks will undoubtedly bring.”

“Getting software released to users is a time-consuming process”, says David Tuck, Client Principal, ThoughtWorks. “By automating the build, deployment and testing process, and improved collaboration between developers, testers and operations, delivery teams can get new software released in a matter of hours – sometimes even minutes – no matter the project size or the complexity of the code base.”

“We are looking forward to working with Skyscanner to break down any silos that segregate business, development, testing and operations, to create a culture of collaboration across the whole organization”.
