About Retail Agility Conference

The Retail Agility one-day conference aims to provide retail leaders and online B2C organisations with a thought provoking forum for discussion and reflection on the major challenges facing the industry. Including real project examples from JD Williams, Ingenico, The Football Pools, Gruppo Pam, Autotrader and others plus a comprehensive review of key consumer trends including ‘what was hot’ at NRF 2012 New York.

The event is a must for those involved in planning Customer Experience and IT Delivery to support Retail Agility.

Consumer sophistication and ease of use of technology has meant that Retailers can no longer exist in long ‘release cycles’ and that an era and need for continuous delivery is upon us. Time is of the essence, if we cannot deliver to the high expectations of the consumer …and fast, someone else will. Can we really afford to spend 6-12 months introducing new systems, planning large roll outs, taking 6 months to introduce small changes to existing websites.

ThoughtWorks part of the founding Agile movement and contributor to the Agile manifesto has long been pioneering techniques such as Continuous Delivery, Integration and test driven development to ensure that any software project is ALWAYS production ready whatever stage in its cycle. This has become paramount in ensuring that retail touch points remain current and that change is the norm and built into the way retail operations are run.

Context for this event is provided by leading retailers and is hosted in conjunction with ThoughtWorks Principal Consultants from around the world. It will provide a sneak preview of our bi-annual Tech Radar, the latest in Agile Experience Design, Continuous Delivery, Payment innovation and Agile Analytics/BI.
