vodQA is a platform for members of the software testing industry to strengthen the QA community by sharing and learning new practices and ideas. vodQA NCR is the first of a series of testing events to be hosted by ThoughtWorks in Gurgaon. The series is open to all testing professionals from the IT industry. The networking session at the end of each presentation will provide a platform to the participants to meet and exchange ideas with their peers.

"Distributed Agile Testing for Enterprises"
Presenters - Anand Bagmar and Manish Kumar
In this session, Anand and Manish will talk about the principles and paradigms of testing, and then share their thoughts (accompanied with case studies) on how to convert these principles into practice. They will discuss techniques to make testing effective in distributed teams by keeping things simple, yet effective, especially in the context of Agile product development.

This will be a panel discussion and participants are free to discuss various ideas/topics.

"Specifications for Testing"
Presenters - Shalabh Varma and Sathyan Sethumadhavan
In this session, Shalabh and Sathyan will walk you through a lifecycle of Specification Driven Development (SDD) with a demonstration. They will start off with key smells in the current process and continue to elaborate the approach towards SDD. They will also cover key process patterns and talk about how to collaborate on requirements. As a closing note, they will talk about living documentation followed by a case study.

About the Speakers

Anand Bagmar is a Lead Consultant (QA) with ThoughtWorks. He has been in the software industry for 14 years, of which 11+ have been spent in the field of software testing. He has hands-on experience in active delivery work, coaching, consulting and training.

Manish Kumar leads the testing practice in ThoughtWorks India. Manish and his team are pioneers in evolving testing practices in mainstream agile application development in a distributed setup. In his 15 years in the industry, he has helped many teams and organizations successfully develop testing capabilities to support rapid application delivery.

Shalabh Varma works with ThoughtWorks as a Lead Quality Analyst with 7 years of testing experience. He brings to the table his knowledge of business process design, requirements analysis, system integration and project planning, using agile methodologies, and 2 years of experience as a developer at Microsoft Technologies.

Sathyan Sethumadhavan serves ThoughtWorks as a Consultant/Coach with 10+ years of experience in the development/testing of large-scale distributed object applications and the integration of enterprise systems.
