Founded in 2008, retailcommon is an online software platform that enables any business to instantly create, distribute and track redeemable mobile promotions that pull consumer traffic, increase sales and build customer engagement. The company is based in Toronto, Canada with European headquarters in London, England.
In 2012, the Company was growing rapidly and they needed an IT partner. And not just any partner: someone who knew not only the mobile and retail domains, but one that could translate that knowledge to help enhance the Company’s existing content management system and facilitate global scalability in all languages across all existing and emerging mobile operating systems.
A nine-person team from ThoughtWorks began working with retailcommon to create a world-class mobile solution. Using Continuous Delivery principles, the code base was built with global scalability in mind, meaning any future continent, country or language requirements could be easily addressed. Built in 3.5 months, the solution has proven to be reliable, scalable and a much simpler way for retailcommon to reach its consumers. The joint team has maintained a 1-2 release(s) per week cycle, with a much smaller team.
